Can your results be shared without your consent?
Short answer
It depends on who holds them. Health records held by your clinician are covered by health privacy law, but US agencies warn that many health apps and websites are not, so their own policies matter. Employers must keep medical information you give them confidential. ADHDFalcon encrypts answers, never sells them, deletes unpaid answers after seven days, and lets you delete them anytime.
Screener answers feel private because they are about you. Legally, though, the rules that protect them depend on where they are stored and who collected them. This page gives general information from official sources and explains this site's own practice. It is not legal advice.
Answers held by health apps and websites
In plain terms: before you take any online quiz, read who runs it, what they collect, and whether they share data with advertisers. A free quiz paid for by advertising may treat your answers as part of the product.
Consent can also be given without much thought. Ticking a box that accepts all cookies, or signing in with a social media account, may allow more sharing than you intended. Taking a moment to choose the narrower option is one of the simplest ways to keep control of sensitive answers.
Information held by your clinician
When you share a screener result with a doctor, it becomes part of your health record, which carries stronger protections than an app usually does. In the US, the FTC's contrast between apps and "your doctor" reflects that health care providers are generally covered by HIPAA.
Information you give an employer
How ADHDFalcon handles your answers
- Your answers are encrypted.
- If you do not buy the optional report, your answers are deleted after seven days.
- Your answers are never sold.
- You can delete your answers at any time.
ADHDFalcon is an educational website, not a healthcare provider, so your screener result here is not a medical record. If you want a clinician to see it, you share it yourself.
If you print or screenshot your result to take to an appointment, remember that the copy is now in your hands. Store it the way you would store any other health document, and delete copies from shared devices when you no longer need them.
A quick privacy checklist for any ADHD quiz
- Is there a named company and a readable privacy policy?
- Does the policy say whether answers are sold or shared for advertising?
- Can you take the quiz without creating an account?
- Is there a clear way to delete your data?
- Are optional cookies or trackers off unless you agree?

Is my screener result protected by HIPAA?
Not automatically. The FTC notes that many health apps and websites are not covered by HIPAA. A result becomes part of a protected health record when a covered provider, such as your doctor, holds it.
Can my insurer see an online quiz I took?
ADHDFalcon never sells answers, and you can delete them whenever you like. For other sites, check the privacy policy to see whether answers are shared and with whom.
How do I delete my answers on ADHDFalcon?
You can delete them at any time. If you do not buy the optional report, they are deleted automatically after seven days.
